About Us
Misau College of Health Science and Technology is a private college established by Alhaji Ahamed Yahaya to train professional health care technicians. The College is situated in Misau town of Misau Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
The College started full operation in September 2021 following the approvals from Corporate Affairs Commission, Bauchi State Ministry of Health and other regulatory bodies. The College is in formal collaboration with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Misau General Hospital, Misau Local Government Department of Primary Health Care and other relevant health facilities across the Bauchi state.
Description of the College Logo: the logo symbolizes the Global Medical Association and other Medical Societies. It is designed in a shape of downward spiral rod called ‘The staff of Aesculapius’ with two snakes curled around it. The symbol of the two snakes represents fertility, birth transformation and healing while the downward spiral rod symbolizes medicine and the roles of healthcare providers e.g. Doctors, Nurses, Community Health Workers, Laboratory Scientist, etc. Therefore the combination of the spiral rod and the snakes appears to represent Medicine, healing, birth transformation and the roles of healthcare providers.
The College Colour: the College colour is green, the colour of life, renewal, nature, and energy; it is associated with meanings of growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and environment. The colour green has healing power and is understood to be the most restful and relaxing colour for the human eye to view. Green can help enhance vision, stability and endurance. Green takes up more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye and it is the dominant colour in the natural. It is a natural choice in interior design as an ideal background or backdrop because we as humans are so used to seeing it everywhere. Therefore, the choice of green as the College colour stands for the harmonious and restful atmosphere of the College.
Admission Requirement
Applicant with the following qualifications may be considered for Admission into the college.
A minimum of 3 credits and 2 passes in the relevant subjects, at not more than two (2) sittings in NECO, WASSCE or its equivalent. The subjects must include;
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Biology or Health Science
- Physics or Chemistry and
- Any other subject
Our Objectives
The four major objectives of the College are geared towards the overall development of the students as individuals and all humanity in general. The College seeks to:
- Prepare students for leading professional roles in the health care sector in Bauchi State, Nigeria and beyond
- Train and develop competent, socially responsible health care professionals and lifelong learners in an environment that promotes excellence in the community service
- Develop physical and human resources of the College to one of the best attainable standards in Bauchi State and beyond
- Prepare students for further professional education in health care delivery.
